Valentines day was soooo much better when I was single. I mean, I try to do as much as possible for my wife to show her how much she means to me, but I really stress over it.
Before I got married, I would usually have a number of women I would be "dating" at any given time. Of course, they all wanted and expected something romantic and great for Valentines Day. Since I couldnt be with all of them for V-day, I would tell them that I wanted to take my mom out to dinner for V-day. They would all go "Awwwwwwwwwww........that is soooooooooo sweet!!! I love that, we can do something later then...". Win/win situation for all. I would spend V-day with just my dog, or spend it with the top chick I had at the time. I tell the 16 year old to use this same strategy if he has a number of girls who want to spend time on V-day.
No need to over think the situation, it's just nice to do something to mark the occasion.
Boyf and I are going to dinner the Sunday before since weekdays are pretty inconvenient. I picked the place and made reservations, it's a surprise to him and I imagine he'll do a little something on his part, maybe buy some flowers or chocolates. But even if he doesn't, I'd be happy to just have some wine and watch a movie together.
Since I don't have a boyfriend, I use it as my love day. I buy stuff for family members that mean so much to me.
How do I sign up to become one of the family members you "buy stuff" for again? And what happened to your romantic affair with TVSG?
