I think we treat weight differently because putting on a lot of weight is considered unattractive. Funny I have heard not one good reason as why gaining weight is unattractive since a lot of people in this country are obese. But here I am losing weight and still not getting dates. Even when I was thin still no luck. I have seen big women with men all the time. I think I am going to just give up on the dating world, or at least take a very long break. Men can be very shallow even the ones in my age group get angry at their wives for gaining weight. Your wife is your wife a person, a human being. How does gaining weight change anything? She is still the same person she was before. I will never understand why men are so finicky about weight. This is why I am glad I have never gotten a relationships, boyfriends, married etc and probably never will. We as humans have become very judgmental for no purpose. Life is not a competition, why are you being so judgemental? I bet no one here has ever talked face to face to a bigger person and say the same crap as they do here because it is none of your business in the first place.

Like it or not, people are allowed to have preferences. The majority of people (men AND women) do not like fat, just like most people wouldn't care for mackerel flavored ice cream. One good reason why it's unattractive? Obesity causes a biological response of repulsion; someone who is obese does not make a good mate. BIOLOGICALLY. All the politically correct nonsense, the countless debates, etc., will never ever be able to make someone attracted to a fat person, fundamentally. Sure, they might be brow-beat into thinking they're wrong for not being attracted to fatties, but deep down they're simply ignoring their biological urges.

Also, life is in fact a competition. The winners live long, healthy lives and the losers die young. Obesity is the cause of a laundry list of terrible things, all of which promote an early death. You can be fat all you want but trying to deny its negative impact on your life is just a lazy way out.

I think pre-judging people on any physical characteristic could be considered shallow.

Except hazel eyes. I can't stand girls with hazel eyes.

There's no denying that there are health risks, but a comment like that is patently ridiculous. Personally, I'd take fat over stupid any day of the week. If you think you're a winner because you're fit, what if you die young anyway? What about my fat grandma who lived to 100? Your presumption is idiocy...and calling people fatties doesn't endear you to skinny people either. Being fit or overweight is not a determination for whether you're a winner or loser...

Not everything in life is a competition. Business is competitive, sport is competitive, beyond that most people just want to relax and make the best of their lives. Taking everything as a competition is just stressful and is a silly way to make depraved people fill more special.

"Hey I got a bigger house then you"

"Oh well I've got more cars"

Nobody worth a damn cares about that crap.
