This, this. Decent guys who want a woman they can treat as a peer can sniff out gold diggers miles down wind.

I know a couple of women who'd probably be classified as gold diggers. What's ridiculous is that they want the sugar daddy of their dreams to still be young, handsome, tall, physically hot, and have a full head of hair. Er ... guess what? There's notta lotta guys like that who don't have S.O.s or wives.

So the GD is stuck with a pool of much older men twice (generally these men are divorced, but not always) who they aren't physically attracted to. What gives? I mean, you can't have it all, gold-digging gals!

So judging and choosing a man by his character, integrity, personality, and his overall quality as a person is considered low self-esteem if he isn't pulling down somewhere in the mid to high six figures or better? I hope you never have any daughters.

Most of the sugar daddy types I've known were strippers, or just lazy skanks with a sense of entitlement (Kardashian anyone?), who usually end up like Ginger from the movie Casino. The guys who usually buy into that sort of arrangement are pathetic, socially inept, or see everything in terms of material value. In other words, some people actually get what they deserve, and in such cases, each party is getting what they deserve in the end, which is most often nothing.

That's a great movie.

Entitlement comes from somewhere, and it's usually a woman's parents. What I've found is that a lot of women have this bizarre sense of entitlement and don't even realize that they do. One of my gal pal's parents (older generation, from the deep South) hammered it home that gentlemen "take care" of ladies, and you aren't really a lady unless your man isn't forking out the dough for not only your basic living expenses, but your entertainment and creature comforts, too.

I've tried to talk to her, but I'm not making any headway. Let's just say she's not in a good financial place these days and lacks the self sufficiency to take care of herself.

This sort of mindset is a lot like racism, IMHO; it's deep-deep-deeply engrained, and sometimes it takes a lot of generations (along with a proper education) to finally wipe it out.

An "evil psycho", because she's sleeping with an old man for money?

Well, why else would a young attractive woman be sleeping with an old rich dude for?

The money is not for the woman's sexual favors, but rather for the child/children that the man helped procreate
Hey I know plenty of women in that category as well, but if they were a bit more logical about making decisions they wouldn't be in that position of working for scraps to take care of a bastard child.

In fact that's admirable that you have a modicum of friends willing to work 2 jobs to take care of their responsibilities. That's the way its supposed to be.

If we take another look at the definition for prostitution, it should be noted that it also says "the subversive use of one's talents for personal or financial gain". There are plenty of women out there (maybe even a few of the people you "know") who decided to have a child because they liked the "idea" but when it came time to support they couldn't afford it. There are also lots of women in the 30+ demographic who know that their market value is rapidly depreciating each day. What do they want? a baby (aw how cute) or to be married to "Mr. Right" and when things don't go according to their 100 point bullet list/plan. Cheating may occur but the court system is far more lenient on woman in this regards.

We have a support net that's built to take care of members of our society when events like this happen. The fact is that inherently bias constructs such as "vawa" and "no fault" divorce have led to a system with no basis that's in need of a dire overhaul.

At the end of the day if

a) Your just smashing to smash and you can't afford a baby yet you garnish a man's wages (even when he's willing to help financially) that's no different than prostitution.

b) Marriage didn't work out for you and you feel that you need to be "re-compensated", that's no different than prostitution (although once you hit the 30-40 year mark there are exceptions to this).

Notice the pattern? If you squint your eyes really hard you'll see a sinking ship in the background as well.

Not sharing that information with him would make it so. The action itself, not so much imo.

It's crazy that it's taken this long for someone to say this before. It's just common sense.

OK, let me explain this out and tell you how this thread came about. A few days ago I met up with a friend. I am 28, single for 2 years (divorced), she's 27 single for almost three (never married). We are both educated, have jobs, attractive, take care of ourselves (work out), and are very decent people. A friend of hers came along, she's 25, did not finish college and seems to be enjoying life pretty good.

We were talking about many things and eventually got down to men. My friend's friend said to us that she got tired of dating losers, getting her heart broken, and having a hard time finding Mr. Right so she decided to "invest her time" dating a suggar daddy until Mr. Right comes into her life. She said that the men she was meeting were just interested in getting laid and since she also has her needs, why not get something for it. She figured that seems she was getting frustrated all the time while dating, she might as well date and get something from it in the form of travel, clothes, fine dining, jewerly, and the likes.

My friend and I looked at each other and laughed. We shared with her our less than impressive latest dating adventures and how difficult we were finding to meet a good man. The woman's answer to us was "why don't the two of you date a suggar daddy until you find your Mr. Right? That way you won't be alone and will get to enjoy yourselves by being spoiled."

I must admit that the thought of being spoiled sounds very enticing but at the same time I can't sleep with a man I am not attracted to, and I have yet to learn dettachement from sex. Once I sleep with a man I can't date another one during that time. Darn oxytocin Aren't all suggar daddies old men too? Like my dad's age? I am not sure if this is still in
my mind because I don't seem to meet a decent man, and VD is around the corner.

Has anybody here ever dated a suggar daddy/mamma? If so, how did you get into it? Pros/cons?
Would you sleep with someone 40 years older than yourself? That is just sick.
