Never received one, and probably never will. I don't really think about it.
That said, if someone were to give me one, I'd probably be pretty damned happy. Sometimes, it seems like I go more or less unnoticed in my daily life ( I don't do anything to call attention to myself, really.). A Valentine's card would mean that someone was paying a little attention.
I got an annonymous card several years in a row in university and was finally told by a mutual friend that it was from someone completely unexpected - a guy who had come to a party my room mates and I had hosted in our second year.
I had known he was interested, but sadly there was no spark (at all) from my end and I was far more interested in another guy who I ended up dating for a while.
When I found out I was actually a little sad that his interest had been more than I thought it was and had gone without reciprocation for so long. You can't force chemistry though!
I love valentine's as a rule - I know it's pretty much a Hallmark holiday these days, but any day that's all about love is ok by me!
Once I had a part time job in the evenings, and though it wasn't on Valentine's Day I found a rose stuck in my car's windshield wiper when I left work one night. A few nights later I found a candy cane (it was near Christmas). Then a note saying something like, "Hope you had a nice day" but with no signature. This went on for a while, and I finally found out it was a coworker I wasn't even remotely attracted to (of course )
Are you a romantic and take Valentines day seriously?
Does Valentines Day make you feel worthless?????
Come on people....have a good rant on here....let it all out!!!! You'll feel better for it!
It's rubbish.
