Say you meet a handsome/beautiful guy/girl and then find out later they're missing a hand/arm/leg/eye or some other body part? Could you date them?

Of course. Exteriors fade. If the person is smart, witty, caring and has a lot in common with me, what would I care if they were missing a hand or arm or leg? Sheesh.

Definitely.

I actually recall years back seeing a girl in a wheelchair at Barnes & Nobles looking through the Biography section.

She was so cute.

To be honest, I didn't think I had a chance.

Yes. The body is just the shell for the spirit. I have relationships with people, not body parts. If a person was missing a body part that does not mean I could not have a relationship with that person.

Funny story, I had a BF years ago, who could not see, one would think I took care of him...waited on him...not! He took care of me! Fixed dinner, went shopping, made coffee, he was very independent.

I think I could as long as it wasn't an arm or leg. I think I'd have a hard time getting past that one.

Probably if it was an amputee man who went up to a woman would get a date. but do I think a guy is going to approach a woman with no legs or one arm? No.

Probably not. "Dating" implies not only romance, but requires mutual interest and sharing of similar lifestyles. My lifestyle is ACTIVE so a requirement for "dating" is that she must be active and energetic like I am and enjoy - hiking, tennis, running on the beach, yoga, etc. If she is unable to particpate actively in these things then I wouldnt date her but we could be friends. If she can participate, then great. If not, friends it is.
