ppl want to be like in the movies, so the spend their entire life searching for that happy ending, forever disappointed. this is the story of this forum
But you gotta love the irony of the question coming from someone in a country that actually beats his gripe about the US.....
Don't get me wrong... I am not a proponent of the "disposal" marriage mindset.
But, 1) I'm in favor of data over opinion; and 2) I'm kinda tired of the US being the Great Satan in all things.
I love my country, but the pot cannot call the kettle black. The UK and US fair quite similarly when it comes to these kind of issues. I suspect that it's similar in all English speaking countries. I defend the UK more than most Brits, but this is one area that I cannot defend her....sorry OP.

In both our defense...
We come from countries with the freedom and income to be able to make mistakes. Kinda like a teen with their first credit card.
I have confidence in both our countries that we will find the balance between freedom and responsibility that will result in good.
History is fraught with ups and downs when it comes to this area. I think we will find the right balance.
Ha! Tried to bust on us and found out you aren't so innocent either.
