This situation wouldn't bother me (as a 20-something y/o female) as long as this wasn't a permanent or long term, and as long as it didn't interfere with your everyday life. Ie. mom calling you to pick here up or drop her off at xyz, her asking you to run errands, go to the grocery store, take her to the doctors etc etc.
Shes 50 not 100. She should be and should have been working like most adults her age.
I'm in my 20s and it would definitely make me pause knowing a guy has his mother living with him, but it wouldn't stop me altogether. I think the important thing is trying to arrange it so that you and your mom have your separate spaces. I wouldn't want to be dating a guy and come over to his place only to find his mom on the couch or know that she's in the room next door. But if she, say, lives on a separate floor or is on the other end of the place then I could get over it.
I was house hunting for awhile and saw many places that would work well for roommates. The living areas were essentially separate and only the kitchen was shared. I think it's very nice and sweet that you want to take care of your mom, just don't let living together hold you back. You're a young adult and should be able to enjoy all the activities that young adults partake in.
