I think this is fair since there's a poll on height restrictions, which are subjective - for some ladies, the deal-breaker is 6'2, at least 6', or greater than 5'10 (that's me).
OK, I'm bringing this up because of the TV series "Dharma and Greg," about a yuppified lawyer who marries the daughter of hippies, who remains hippy dippy herself. Again, I watched about 2 episodes, shaking my head. I was thinking "this just ain't the way it is in real life."
Define "earthy" however you want - to me, it means not a lot of make-up nor work on her hair to enhance her beauty, views which are more liberal, more prone to being "spiritual" than religious, has dietary restrictions (vegetarian or vegan) and other attributes which are nowadays considered "granola."
So, men, would you date an "earthy" woman?
Yes I would as long as she turns me on sexually and is a nice person.
I wouldn't own one, but definitely ask for them when I've rented cars in Europe. With an automatic trans (rare over there), you can then concentrate on negotiating the narrow streets and absurd traffic.
I wouldn't mind owning a Smart Car if you could get them with a normal manual transmission. Well, I still wouldn't buy a car that expensive, but if someone were to give me one...
You learn from observing...from talking to friends and co-workers...from the workplace...and mostly from taking road trips through California growing up. You're interacting with those who will do anything to live at Lake Tahoe, Nevada City, Santa Cruz and Big Sur, and you think to yourself "Why can't I even remotely relate to these people?" And my friends are thinking the same thing. Most of it is for the chuckle value. None of it is hateful. But the speech inflection, the apparel and the overall presentation is different and makes for good discussion. To each their own. This stuff isn't even on TV...maybe as a cameo.
I've traveled this country back & for many times over. More then likey anyone else here. Unless there is a truck driver who runs non-stop. The majority of people here who have posted on this topic are stereotyping what they believe an earthly women is or should be. If you can't relate to these types of women then I would have to say it sounds like a personal problem. It's no fault of thiers they are people like you.
One last thing...what kind of car does she drive? It IS relevant.
Price of car, gas, and utility are some of the things people consider when buying. I'm not sure how that's broken into mainstream and earthy.

Ah, so having a job renders a person non-earthy, then?

Ok, a couple of things. Mainstream is not so much clean cut these days. You can put this guy, about as mainstream as it gets, in a suit and keep his hair short, but he's not someone I would describe as clean cut. I would describe him as someone who probably eats at chain restaurants.
Mainstream America is not entirely college bound, since only 28% of the nation hold college degrees, let alone bound for engineering. I know a lot of engineers and they don't remind me of the people you describe. I think business might be closer. As far as the suburbs go, I didn't know you were a home owner.

You actually have some of the criteria listed by the OP as earthy. You believe in astrology, a strong proponent of, correct? I consider myself earthy, but don't buy into that stuff.
I think some of the men here watch WAY too much TV..

Baloney. You reference TV continually. The media has clearly impacted your worldview in a striking way. You can't relate to these people, and likely a host of other groups, because you are a closed-minded, judgmental man who superimposes stereotypes onto strangers.

This is just silly. You're grasping at straws again. There are environmentalists who take issue with urban sprawl, which is understandable. But, you sitting or traveling around listening to this stuff with any regularity to give the observation credence? How is it possible with your TV and chain restaurant schedule?
With all the above said I just asked my husband if he considers us as earthy and he said NO, even tho he's an avid hiker, enjoys camping, and knows the woods in our area like the back of his hand; is not religious and is practically a socialist and poo poo's mainstream America. Go figure.
I'm a vegetarian chick that's as far from "earthy" as earthy gets.
