If you prefer a woman with no kids, it's good for you to move on early on. I wouldn't call her back. She is already displaying past issues with that statement that she wants "a real man." I have never been a fan of the whole call you and have a conversation about the future from the start because your interaction may not call for that.
While I don't have kids - I must confess, it's normal for someone to express that they don't want someone who is going to "tolerate" their kids or interact with them as if they are a burden. I don't think this is a conversation for the first night considering you shouldn't even be in the presence of her kids until you guys are serious. Again- you are just starting to have one conversation - she's going warp speed in my opinion.
If I read between the lines, it reads like "regular guy has to finish med school and residency and pass his boards" and "regular guy has to finish law school, pass the bar, and then get a job at a prestigious law firm." Ok, then he will get some attention, but not before. I couldn't rep you. I think I did so yesterday.
I know a college classmate who became a doctor. He was a 4 or a 5, and he married a 9. Their marriage has been "in trouble" since after the honeymoon. While she wasn't a single mom, this touches on threads like "do equals attract," "gold-digging," "entitlement," and a few others. It must be hard to wake up to someone whose love for you is so "conditional."
Incidentally, for those who like to bash single men, some of them have processed situations like the one described above and said "I'll pass." That's why some of these guys are still single, not because they're inept.
You use the word "has" but who is saying "has" and why does this person have this much influence on you?

It's part of a puzzle. Perhaps you should read the quote I was responding to.
