You guys keep Trayvon discussion over in Politics and other. There is a huge thread there to discuss and has nothing to do with Relationships.

My question to you is if you think a non white murdered child should stay in the media, what are you doing to make sure that happens? News is what people want to hear about. If you're not indicating you want to hear about it, they're not printing it. Natalie Hollaway's mother makes sure her daughter stays news. She keeps pressure on to find her killer. THAT is why her case is still ongoing and you still hear about her in the news.
How many white children are killed every year who don't stay in the media? It's not like every white child gets years of coverage. Only the ones whose cases are infamous (Caylee Anthony....Jon Bennet-Ramsey...et.al.) or who have families who lobby to keep their name on the public radar who stay on the public radar and even they fade away in time. You are inventing a racial problem where there is none.
To be honest, I think that the inner city just accepts that kids get killed. You don't see the candle light vigils you see in the burbs. A child killing is unusual in the burbs. It shocks us. When I lived in the city, people said, "That's a shame" and went about their regularly scheduled lives. Where I live, people build shrines to kids where they were killed. The family keeps the child in the public eye. I don't see the media as latching onto certain kids (except the sensational ones) so much as I see the families working to keep that child's name in the public eye.

I'm sorry but you need to be honest with yourself and look at the number of white children that are profiled as compared to the number of minority children that are also killed in similar manners. Myself and anyone else can rattle off the list of their names as Osito has done same cannot be said for minority children. I bet you and most others don't even know who NixzMary Brown is. There is an unequal playing field....I didn't say every white child got coverage -- I said there was an unequal playing field. It is true I was at work and heard some people complaining about the coverage of Travyon being 'overkill,' that's why I made that comment in the other post. I worked for a major news network before my current job, I know that exactly what you said is true: it's treated by majority of people as 'another dead kid in the ghetto.' They do have candlelight vigils and marches for these children as well, not just in the 'burbs. Don't you ever see some of the parents on the news with tee shirts made of their deceased children and the community members standing behind them? I do. But you see what you want to see.

GUYS, Pleaaaaaaaaase stop talking about Trayvon, I come here to escape that crap, this is really inappropriate. I understand the urge to talk about him but please, please, this is not a relationship topic and I'm so sick of it, I just want to cry.
Here is a link to the thread where you can talk about it as well as my post stating all the facts along with my world class analysis

I am strongly attracted to blue eyes, and the vast majority of people I've dated have had them. As most people with blue eyes are white, I suppose that makes me a racist.

I want to Rep you almost every time you post. You've got a good feel for people and presenting it well to others who seem to not have the life experience or knowledge you possess.
You know men well and I can see why you attract quality men into your life. Keep up the good posts and spreading your knowledge. It's too easy to blame others for discriminating due to Race when it's the individual and their lack of skills and qualities that attract a mate of any color.
Others would be wise to listen and learn.

Thanks.
I just get so tired of hearing Black women moaning and groaning about a situation that is completely within "our" control to change.
