It's a loaded gender specific insult. Imagine calling a man a little a b*tch. That's pretty darn insulting because it's a negative term meant for women, so it's a double whammy. At best, it's fitting for gay men and women. You, like most, are conditioned to blindly accept.
Wow, your brain is working pretty well at 6:30 am Boston time.
Correct, we're all conditioned to make certain abstractions. One is that feminist equates with carpet muncher.
Perhaps some would be happy if the OP now went back and started a thread titled "Is there a prick look?" Then we'd know they were talking about men, and to phrase our responses accordingly.
I mentioned that same concept somewhere in this thread. There is a pr!ck look. Because of the double standard, it doesn't bother me.
ya, its like in the politics forum, I really love Ron Paul and his ideas, but people have rightly criticized "Paul-bots" that ALWAYS try to bring him up in EVERY single thread, and I sometimes check myself and try to just discuss the issue at hand in the specific thread lol. Its almost as if these two posters I alluded to are playing the ROLES of "feminist" and "chauvinist" lol
Best part is that the OP hasn't returned since the first post!

Like it or not, we'd all do well to realize that some terms in the English language are gender-specific.
Indeed, I could just as easily argue that the non-specificity of terms aimed at men makes insulting them worse.
Ahole. Bastard. Even mild words like "jerk." People tend think of men when those words are said, even though the terms themselves do not denote gender, like beyotch does with female dogs.
Wait. I'm a feminist. I should be railing about how male behavior ruined three perfectly good non-specific words.

But pr!ck carries the most "punch" and definitely denotes gender. Again, when used about someone else, men either shrug or agree. We don't take the "bleeding heart" empathy route to defend that person. It's usually an accurate assessment.
Has nothing to do with conditioning and everything to do with the fact that I choose not to be hypersensitive and offended at every little word people use. Indeed, the tendency to take personal affront at every utterance is a rather b*tchy trait. Have a nice day!

Yep, real nice. Of course, words don't have power. No, not at all.
