Oriental is a type of rug.
Not all Asians are oriental.
Oriental was used in a derrogative sense during the 1800s.
It is a politically incorrect word to use to describe Asians.

Oriental definition from wikipedia.
Oriental" has been used by the West as a term to describe cultures, countries, peoples and goods from the Orient. Oriental is also used as an adjective akin to "eastern."
For when someone says you are oriental you implying you are from the east.
We need to educate each other cause there lots of ignorance and ignorance is the cause of lots of mistrust and misunderstanding...

I have seen quite a few asian man/white woman couples, but definitely not as many as white men/asian woman couples.
I don't even see much black man/asian woman couples, and as for asian man/black woman couples, that is even rarer. I have never seen asian man/black woman in real life, except like two times on TV on those house hunting remodeling shows.
I think it is true asian parents are, for lack of a better word, more racist towards black ppl than white. I know some asians whose parents are like that. Plus, they also told me that their parents actually prefer(strongly) that they marry other east asians, and it cannot even be south asians, its got to be the japanese korean chinese kind.

If you said that Asian parents are more racist towards blacks than any other race, I would most likely agree. However, the way you stated your comment that Asian parents are more racist towards blacks than whites, I have to completely disagree. For every Asian parent that is racist towards blacks, there is an equal, if not more, amount of white parents that think the same thing. It's a matter of cultural change from one generation to the next. There are far more "first generation" Asian families than whites and it takes a while for that kind of "openess" to sift down the pipe. I for one am attracted to blacks, and other races, but my parents, I regret to say, certainly wouldn't have anything to do with it. One more thing, for my Chinese parents, if I ended up with a Japanese man, it would be just as "shameful" to them as being with a black man.

Blacks are generally at the bottom. There are a lot of negative stereotypes held of blacks throughout Asia that many immigrants have a difficult time letting go of. Their Asian-American children are generally more open and would be willing to date a black man or woman were it not for the strong objections of their parents. I think once we get further in the assimilation process, the children of these Asian-Americans will have no problem dating blacks or Latinos for that matter.

I think, unfortunately, you hit it right on the nail.

Comments like the one above is the cause of all ignorance in this world.......Have you ever heard don't generalize one group of people..
Look at what happened during the holocaust...Learn from history...Putting one group into one category is dangerous...

Hey stupid, I work with a lot of traditional Chinese and Vietnamese and happen to be an Asian that was adopted by an Italian family. All I hear from these Asian's families is that they want them to marry within their race. Just how it is. Never said I agreed with it or that was my way of thinking. Now Quit being gay.

When people start calling someone stupid, I wonder what insecurities they have.
I respect your comment on your experiences, but learn to be open-minded and see from the other side of things. Your views are somewhat narrow minded on your experiences.
