"Do the thing you fear...and the death of fear is certain."
Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Anyone know how to do the two-step? Just took a group class here and it was fun...even for this introverted geek that can't dance worth a lick. Should have done this a loooong time ago...but had fun. And, the girl to guy ratio is like 10:3 Some real "Daisy-dukes" in here..

Thought i'd post this in here in case some of you guys are looking for places to meet women. I took the class so I could learn to do this dance, had no idea this is where the cute women go, lol.

I stuttered when I was young. So I took a public speaking class. Now I am a fearless presenter.

However, there are also perfectly reasonable fears. Skydiving, grizzly bears and tax audits, for example.

I'm afraid of heights and I am not about to try to conquer that one.

Default its the sanctuary of comfort...

That keeps us feeling safe. This causes stagnation many times, Keeping us complacent in where we are even though we want to broaden our horizons. This does not mean skydiving, Bungee jumping or bear wrestling. Moving from one's hometown to start over, Giving a relationship a chance (Or second chance) or switching careers. MANY threads on city data address things like this. This thread sums it up well in the title.

My take: take risks, Calculated ones and plan as best as you van. If life for you is TRULY poor for whatever reason then you have nothing to lose and taking the leap is likely the best choice. When all else fails-Try anything. That said, The years are sneaky and slip right by us. Better to act sooner then later.

I've never been afraid of anything that couldn't physically hurt me (bugs, public speaking, the dark, failure, hard work, etc).

Op, good for you!!! I took a 2 step class, too...it was fun!

I was afraid of heights..... so I bungee-jumped 180 feet.

I'm still afraid of heights.

stan, more people are actually afraid of public speaking than death itself. What this means is that the guy giving the eulogy at a funeral would rather be in the box.
