Guys: have you ever seriously considered one possible option for having your own family, in which you would basically either adopt a child or have a child via a female surrogate?
If you're hetero and white, then forget it. Ain't no adoption agency in the US that will even talk to you.
You can go outside the US. You can even buy a girl.
Female surrogate would definitely be out of the question. Way too much risk of having one come back on you and it would cost you lots of money, with no guarantees and a huge headache.
Fatherhood isn't for every guy (just as motherhood isn't for every woman), but if it is you, you gotta have it. Nothing like being a father. It's an experience, maybe good, maybe bad, but an experience nonetheless.

Just curious, what kinds of risks are you referring to, exactly? In theory, arranging for a female surrogate should involve paying for the surrogate's medical and some other types of ongoing expenses, I am aware, but once the legal paperwork is signed, how could they "come back on me", as you had mentioned above? I know it is expensive, but if a child could come out of such an arrangement, then it is well worth the risk? In addition, if the surrogate was hypothetically artificially inseminated with my genetic material, that would automatically give me natural paternal rights regardless, yes?
Could you please elaborate on the risks you had mentioned?

Surrogates usually use donor eggs too I thought.
