Yes very content and happy. I lost the love of my life for awhile and a stranger appeared in his place. He loved me enough to come back to me, that and ten days at his mothers + some time alone in a vacant rental property. It will be 27 yrs. in June. Now if we can just survive retirement and living together 24/7.
married 13 years here(together 21 yrs). I do agree times are a changin'. People seem to be more nonchalant about who they sleep with and with how many people then when I was in college (who'd think that was possible), people seem to be more cynical and untrusting, and less willing to committ or unwilling to believe that long-term commitment is even possible.
Mod cut: Orphaned and off topic.
This from a wife(content in my marriage) who's husband is my confidant, lover, best friend, partner and companion. We've been thru many, many challenges and still face them today.
I had a very unhappy first marriage and have been single for about 2 years...dating on and off. I love this thread and I find all the people who can vouch that happy marriages and relationship do exist very inspiring! Hopefully I will find my match soon and be as happy as all of you!
You are young, but soon you will realize that the majority of people on this planet are pretty much a waste of carbon and H2O.
Don't live you life based on what happens to the majority of people.
Don't let the majority be your example.
Yup...love my wife, love my life.
^^Love this!!

The best advise I've seen on here so far...
WAY 2 GO!!!!

"I had a very unhappy first marriage" It had to be good for at least some time or you would not have gotten married in the first place.
I used to look at divorced people as being misurable and unlucky or at least people who were unwise. Now I look at them as having some happiness in their marriages and even more happiness in their new found freedom.
Even the people who keep getting married, 4 or 5 times, must have had some goodness in their marriages. I no longer feel sorry for these people. Your here in this life 60 or more years, live your life to your standards and enjoy it the best you can
