Without reading any of the other posts in this thread, I'll just answer the OP's question:
Abso-friggin'-LUTELY, has a woman's sense of humor been KEY in my attraction toward her!
Like all of us, I enjoy looks; but they are NOT the end-all for me, are far from it. And I have definitely grown to be attracted to women based on getting to know them, finding that their company really appeals to me regardless of looks.
I consider a real sense of humor to be a sign of intelligence; and NOTHING turns me on like a SMART woman.
Further, I NEVER EVER EVER met a woman who loved to laugh who didn't ALSO just LOVE sex -- and not in that ooh, this feels good way, but in that proactively participatory way.
Looks are not enough. That hottie can jiggle her boobs around and it will get my attention but it wont keep it for long. A good sense of humor is integral to a life worth living, making the journey without it would be a tragedy.
I saw the poll and I call bull**** on that one. This is almost as believable as when guys say they like a girl with "curves" but eye ****s a waif or a girl who practically disappears when she turns sideways.
I mostly just see shallow shallow men everywhere. Their requirement usually sounds very generic: I want a caring, sweet, down to earth girl. BLAHBLAHBLAH I know what this generic response REALLY masks. Give me a BREAK. Guys will put up with a lame no sense of humor girls **** if shes hot enough. Not to mention if someone is a guys type the guy will usually inflate any quality she has. A lame joke is HILAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARIOUS if she looks a certain way. Ugh. get me out of this awful ****ing society. I know I sound bitter and ugly right now, I'm not. I'm just a realist. That's all for now.
Lol, naw, not your sense of humor, exactly...I enjoy reading your posts b/c I think you are actually a very sweet girl...who also has the darndest sense of humor, btw!

No matter where you go or what you do what you see will depend on you. More, having a penis does not make a male a man. Men do not lie, they do not cheat, they do not steal. Sometimes I despair myself and yet I look out on the back deck and I see men who would rather die than dishonor their boat or their shipmates. I see a few who are older and have worked in a way that few will ever know and have shed blood for their families, faced fear and death.
Only one of those men is with a girl who would be described as hot. The rest, not overweight and not ugly but not among the beautiful people. Yet each of those men is very very fit, none are ugly, even the greenhorn makes more than your average doctor. But only one hot girl in the lot. Hmmmm...

Yeah it does seem higher than what I would have expected from what I know, have heard from people. When men describe their perfect match, they don't use the adjective 'funny' as much as women do. A guy doesn't gush about how funny his date was, most guys at least, although it's something that would definitely be a big positive observation by me.
LOL. Hey, Im with you on this one. That is why I voted NO in this poll. A woman's sense of humor NEVER plays a "significant" factor in me liking/dating her. What is supremely more important IS how she looks. Oh, and if she is FUN (i.e., into doing the same things that I am into, or just fun to be around) then THAT is important. Like the video I posted earlier here of Scarlette Johansson, her personality just screams "I am fun to be around" and that goes a long way.

I actually do gauge how funny women are. As in if they're able to actively tell jokes, joke or goof around. I wouldn't say being funny is essential but in my case at least its something I find irresistible in a woman. I do wonder how common that really is.
