They are only quiet in the start not after you break the ice.
Right, this is what it's all about, breaking the ice. This is the challenge for some guys. If the woman can make it easy to break the ice by tossing out a casual comment, the rest comes fairly naturally, unless the poor guy is really awkward.
If his friend tells me he never approaches women to me that level of shyness is bothersome. I'd rather not take what I perceive as the burden to get him out of his shell.

No, we carry that burden. I'm not complaining, women can't help it, I'll take it up with Mother Nature/God, one day, lol.
