This really isn't reality, tho. It's a fantasy for most men. I don't see the point in average guys kowtowing or giving any energy to the privileged they will never know or be.
Isn't the OP about successful guys? Successful guys aren't in the same boat as average guys.
The majority of college educated women overseas speak English.
You didn't specify college-educated. Most Philippine mail-order brides didn't have much education, back when the Philippine bride market was big. I had no reason to assume you meant college-educated women. In fact, many of those Asian and Latina women are actually getting their college educations in the US, so you don't have to go overseas to look for them, lol!

Sure, but how do you know in your 20s that you'll be successful by the time you reach your 40s? Obviously it doesn't always work out the way one plans!

It doesn't change the fact that the available pool of 30 year old women are going to be diminished for this successful, 40 yr old guy. Nor does it change the fact that educated, successful men are going to prefer their own kind, which are other educated, successful women. Ladies for sale in impoverished nations are not going to be of the same ilk. Life isn't a cheesy, 30-minute reality TV special.
I didn't get married until age 34. In the meantime, I focused and excelled in school, in my career, became financially secure and totally debt free... all of which are blessings.
Yet my wife, and my daughter are far greater and bring me far more lasting joy than anything my career has brought me.
I am content with how my life has unfolded, but if I was given the option to trade some of the career success, the financial security, the "single life" for 10 more years with my wife, I would do it in a heartbeat.

Generally, the guy who goes the mail-order bride route isn't looking for a financial planner from Singapore or a Brazilian surgeon. He wants a simple woman from a podunk village who thinks that he's a demigod because he makes more than $10/day and can whisk her away from poverty to live in America, where the streets are paved with gold.

There's that as well. Along with the definition of success being up for debate. I've seen people on this forum consider a BA with a $60K-100k/yr salary to be successful. It's not bad, but not for jet setting around the globe with the monies required to bring a bride over to the US and whatever family obligations she may have.

If you're currently attending a quality professional school (law, med, dental, pharmacy, etc) or are currently in a position that has great exit options (for example, working for a decent investment banking/private equity/venture capital firm or something similiar like corporate strategy at a Fortune 500), chances are you'll be hitting well into the six figure range by the time you're 40.
HAHAHAHAHAHAAH Law School as a way to make money. I'm guessing you don't know many young lawyers do you?
