There is a guy in OKC who has been trying to get my attention for a couple of months but I have not responded. The main reason is his profile picture and his apparently *very keen* interest in motorcycling. Now, I have nothing against bikes, my ex had 2 Triumphs and we often went out on long rides and overnight trips.

But this guy's motorcycle is...a tricycle. A really tricked out model with custom paint, and chrome, and etc.. I know you know what I am talking about.

I am having a hard time getting past the silliness of this vehicle, and how ridiculous I would feel riding on one of those. I want to be honest and explain why I am not feeling the interest, but I fear this is a shallow dealbreaker. But to be fair, this tricycle riding seems like a HUGE part of his lifestyle.

Anyone want to tear me apart for this?

ETA, just looked at more of his photos and he apparently has more than one of these things....

No I'd tear you apart if you were into it though. I never understood how people could be into these things to be honest.

Maybe next it'll be a roadster hahah

Its your choice who you date and who you don't date but I do think not dating someone because they own a motorcycle/tricycle is kinda silly but again its how comfortable you feel. I know exactly what you are talking about. My hairdresser is 58 years old, male, covered with tattoos and has an earring and drives a beautiful tricked out Harley. He is not gay, loves women and is probably one of the best hairdressers I have ever been to. He is all personality, kind hearted and as a matter of fact his elderly Mom lives with him..he bought a big house in the country specifically to have room for her. He has a girlfriend and loves kids. So??? If you had met him with his tattoos, earring, and Harley would you EVER have thought he was a hairdresser?

Straight out advice?? Unless you can get past the tricycle thing, don't date him. He will absolutely sense that you are not all that interested in him. Not fair to him and certainly not something that you should do. Move on.

Tell him to get a man's bike!! The only men riding these should be in their (late) 60's who have had (at least 2) heart attacks, and can no longer handle maneuvering around a big Harley or other cruiser bike, yet would like the open air experience that a motorcycle provides.

Yeah, I could actually show some interest in one of those, it looks different and sort of edgy. But the tricycle. Ugh.

I recently went on a Patriot Guard run for a fallen soldier in my area over the Memorial Day weekend. There were about 6 or 7 trikes in the 2 mile long procession. First time I had seen one up close. They are kinda pretty, the fancy paint jobs, but I could not see myself riding in/on one. The seat is like a car seat and I sure wouldn't feel safe hitting a bump with no one to hang onto!

Give me a big old Harley with an even bigger burley guy driving it to hang onto!
