creme - I was going to rep you for a bravo on quittin' the habit but I've given out too many rep points! Don't have any advice but just wanna say "Way to go!"

Maybe one advice ... how open are you to starting an exercise program? I heard somewhere that exercise provides some of the same 'craving fix' as smoking a cigarette. True or not, beats me but from a runner's perspective, I can tell you there is nothing like those endorphins kicking in to put you in a good mood!

hehehe
I will never run again...but will walk and start an exercise program as soon as practically possible...running and working out 7 eays a week, got me two brand new knees.... but yes, you are correct, exercise is great all the way around, and I miss it, and it probably would help a lot...I'd be to tired to be b i t c h y yanno

Awesome ... you know any form of exercise will help! I'm a novice myself but have come to realize getting your heart rate up is a great feeling.

(just a side note - I'm only a "poser" but referring to myself as a "runner" rather than a "jogger" just sounds so much better! heehee)

Creme- for a natural remedy try taking calcium and magnesium. The magnesium has some properties that help take the edge off.

St. John's Wort is another mood stabilizer.

Nicotine is the hardest drug to get off of, many hard core drug users say it was harder to stop smoking than getting off any drug, all your feelings are normal and it's harder for some than others, keeping busy and keeping your mind off of it is the best solution.

oh yeah, seriously, I forgot about St. John's Wort...I started taking that a few years ago, when my new boss started...it helped....great idea....thanks, I'll get some tomorrow.

If I take vitamin C and a good one a day centrum silver, then wouldn't I be getting enough magnesium? Then just take a calcium suppliment?

whataya think?

oh, let me tell you, about 3 weeks into it...I got really sick, for 2 days...sweets, then chills, I wanted to cry like anything, and my girlfriend is like a blood hound, hehe, if she emails me and I don't answer her back, she calls me at home. I was home from work for two days...I couldn't sleep, it was awful...sick to my stomach, and I told her I didn't understand what was going on, and she said..."it's withdraw" and those two days are the only thing that is keeping me from lighting up again....
believe it, what you said is true....

An additional magnesium supplement is good for that edge (you know, the I WANT TO KILL YOU feelings- cue the Jaws theme!)

A close friend of mine is a shaklee rep and they recommended the calcium/mag to help people get over the stress of quitting.

I give you credit- every time I try to quit I gain about 20 lbs in 2 months.....
