I've never really given 'ripped' guys a second glance and I can't help but roll my eyes at men who find every excuse they can to take off their shirt to show their abs. I prefer slightly chubby, bordering overweight with a little tummy . Nearly every guy I've been into has been close to this physical type. It's my own personal preference, nothing more.

Any bit of "little tummy" is directly related with increased risk in diabetes, cancer and heart disease. But your preference I guess. I can't believe you'd encourage what a competent medical practicioner would render as a risk factor.

And run the risk of dating a guy with self esteem??? I think not!
I'm muscular, get sick of the generalisations. Yes for some its an obsession, yes some are vein, yes some have bad attitudes.
But there are plenty of muscular guys myself included where none of those apply. Though admittedly in my past that wasn't always the case.

In all fairness, you're into chubby guys because of what a previous poster said in regards to not being approached by any ripped guys. It's basically a defense mechanism.

I don't normally get approached by ripped guys, but I'm still not into chubby guys, so maybe it IS just her personal preference.

I don't buy that. It's like when certain guys say they prefer overweight women to thin women. However, I've never seen a truly good looking, successful guy with an overweight woman so I find it hard to believe that this is really just a person preference. Rather, I think it's some sort of defense mechanism as a result of them knowing that they can't really get the attractive, thin women that the good looking, successful guys are dating/married to and therefore they say they prefer something else that they can realistically get.

I can believe that there are some women out there who actually prefer chubby guys over ripped guys. Everyone's ideal man doesn't look the same. Even if you do consider it a defense mechanism because you're assuming they simply can't get someone with a ripped body, I think it's better for both men and women to have a preference for people who they actually have a chance with, so it's not a bad thing.
