Hi everyone,
I'm 25 years old and my sister is 27.
I got married at 19. i dated alot in high school. i was lucky enough to find/marry a wonder man, who saved me from my alcoholic mom/physically abusive dad. its a horror story of a childhood, however my sister was the favorite and she was mom and dad's "perfect child" bc she did EXACTLY what they wanted.. even if that meant rating on me or hurting me. i had forgiven my sister for all that- we were JUST KIDS- she had NO idea that our childhood wasn’t normal. today I've been married 6 years and have a gorgeous 1-1/2 year old daughter. my sister gotr married to the first guy she went out with at the age of 24. my sister admittedly is a chameleon. she changes her skin to match other peoples. so there is a thought that maybe the 3 years after i graduated from high school- when i moved out and my parents started to "hate" her just so they had someone to hurt constantly. we were close and i thought she was funny and cute.. now- shes been married for 3 years to a guy she was set up with (who was a 35 year old virgin- LOOSER- massively over-weight) when they married- now controls her every thought and action. examples- when i call her she won’t answer- she calls me back on SPEAKER PHONE so her husband can hear me. he comments on my comments- really freaked me out the first few time- like WTF? i thought i was talking to my sister. well she went from no religion to whatever he is bc he refused to marry her if she didn’t. my sister said shes NEVER HAD AN ORGASM from him.... i think she has daddy issues. Anyways she irks me now. i can’t stand her as a person. to see her is to see a person who has NO CLUE who she is.. and probably never will.. it’s sad and sickening, but NOT my life.. so I'm not trying to change her- i strongly believe one day she'll wake up and see that she hates her life.
Phew. It is amazing how different siblings can be. People speak of this "bond of blood" and whatnot. Phew! Not for me. I have two older sisters that I cannot relate to in the slightest. I fail at relating to them for different reasons than yours, but I honestly gave up that struggle a long time ago. I see them both as exceedingly manipulative, little Br'er Rabbits in the briar patch.
I can relate, but I have no idea what you do about it. I don't think you *can* actually do anything about it. I would ask why you are so invested in her life and how to change it, but there's that bond of blood business. You share a history. And that's pretty important, in reality. This is why I prefer buddhism, though.
Nothing you can do and if you ask her she is just fine it is you that has the problem. Just avoid her and continue on with your life. IF you pray then pray for your sister and the situation she is in and leave it at that.
i'm not too invested.. she keeps calling/ texting me. that happened after i got pregnant with my daughter- my sister is obsessed with me. i had to cut her off for a while- she was PISt at me- she lives in a different state then i do. I just cant stand how she wants me involved in her life- when i just dont like her.
well what’s worst is now she's pregnant and she’s an idiot really- she called me saying "i think i'm pregnant- what do i do?" LOL WTF???? GET A PREGNANCY TEST> shes so retarded. but she asks me all this questions like an idiot. then she always repeats what i tell her.. for example i say: i went to the zoo. she'll say: so you went to the zoo?
OMG drives me crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT TO DO??? and her husband is so obnoxious when we see each other. he takes over the conversation and he's so authoritative.. its pisses me off.
but i guess in the back of my mind is- i feel bad for her- she obviously needs help. but then again- talking to her makes me mad.
