There is a lot of women who Are "ok" if you will with that situation but IMO there's also a lot who go along with that arrangement and pretend thats what they want but deep down their lying(and this has burned me one or 2 times) They're thinking that even though She can't be with him in a relationship but least She can still be with him intimately. And I think that's stupid, you should never settle for what you want in a relationship. I respect women way more for not settling for that situation if it's NOT want you really want
There are all types.

I have never met a man where I would 'settle' for a sex only relationship instead of a real relationship if that's what I wanted. Not one.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but yes I consider it a HUGE insult for a man to tell me he's only interested in sex. At least they're being honest and I can dismiss them.

There are lots of guys who'd be perfectly fine with that. I guess it's a fundamental difference between males and females.

Not only that, but I think part of it would have to do with what you value more, personality or looks. If someone came up to me and said 'I just want to have sex with you' I wouldn't feel flattered because I don't put as much emphasis on my looks as many other people do. My personality and intelligence is FAR more important to me than what I look like.

If a guy came up to me and said 'I don't want sex, I just want to go to museums, fly planes and discuss books with you' I'd be flattered.

I hope that makes sense

Makes total sense, JJ, but I don't think you're going to find an actual guy who'll say that to you.

It makes total sense, and I agree. People on this forum throw around the word "success with men/women" a lot, but for me, success with dating is not having a lot of sex with a lot of different people.

Perhaps you are unique in that regard, but it seems to me that almost all women on this planet would be insulted if a guy came up to them and said "I dont want to have sex with you". Thats likely the worst thing you can say to a woman. There is a reason most take two and a half hours to get ready before they leave the house, and that is to make themselves look attractive to men.

Not for me either, but the other extreme - having no sex with no people - constitutes failure in the male mind.

there is nothing contradictory about these two statements and they both seem reasonable to me

it's like you guys are searching for something to disagree over
