My wife is bipolar and I've managed to live with that for 16 years.
I don't consider her a bipolar. I consider her a person who also happens to have bipolar disorder. It doesn't define her. It's simply one facet of a multi-faceted human being.
Would AS be any worse or just different? I guess my answer to the question is "Possibly!" It would depend on the whole person.

Different spectrum but overall experience could be similar. By the way, how is it living with a ticking time-bomb? Are you ever concern about well-being of your kids when they are with their mother?
I do undertsand that even bi-polar has different faces and can be treated to some extent yet the threat is always there. Are you ever scared what you spouse may do?
there are just as many 'nos' as there are 'yes' and most of hese men come with their own little personal baggage of issues -- but instead like to pretend they're perfect. most of them are no good anyways, is the funniest part.

We have no children together. I was 50 and she was 48 when we married and children were neither wanted nor an option.
No worries! Medication worked well for years as has no medication for the past three years. In retirement we moved to another state in a beautiful, rural area that is peaceful and quiet. It's also far away from any of our combined seven children, their families and all that drama. The lack of "triggers" has been a godsend.
For me, things like metal disorders only make up a portion of an individual's personality. All people with autism/asperger's don't act alike. Same applies to people with anxiety disorders, OCD, bipolar, ADHD, etc. It all boils down to the individual.
So to answer the question, yes I could date a woman with autism/asperger's if we shared some common interests and personality traits.
