I must have "weird" experiences. My aunt is on marriage #2 to a white guy. The first marriage was 25 years or so (he still visits my family, the former inlaws every few years). I don't know how they met, but they had polar opposite upbringings. The current marriage is on year 10ish; they met at church. Is that a white activity? One of my good friends is in a long term relationship with a white guy. I think this is year 6 coming up. She grew up in a middle class black neighborhood. He grew up in a middle class white neighborhood. They met at a party. Is this a white activity?

But obviously these couples can't work. Because they have nothing in common.

The major issue hampering Black Women/White Men unions are stereotypes and mode of "asking out', but even with all that, there are still many Black Women/White Men unions happening and they've been happening since time immemorial.
I online date and 90% of the men who ask me out are guess what? White. And I am as African as the Sahara Desert.
On this board, I can count many black women posters who regularly date white men.
I have close friends who have married white men.

The reason I loathe these race threads is that they somehow end up painting black women as undesirable for dating and it's just not true.
This is one of my biggest issues I have found in America, having to deal with race all the damn time. I did not grow up seeing color but I'm reminded of it everyday.
If you are lucky to find love, take it and run with it. Race should not have to factor into it.

It's all imaginary and they dream this stuff up and refuse to be happy. It's open season on everyone. EVERYONE gets made fun of, LOTS of groups besides Black Women get painted as undesirable. It's these types of women who obsess over it who end up fulfilling a self fulfilling prophecy and stay alone, miserable and undateable.

The ones who ignore the B.S. end up happy.

This is so backward! No wonder these people (and I mean anyone who is not sure of themselves and obsess over race) have so many issues/problems and remain alone!

Treat people like people!

Calm down Just playing around. Although, I have read on this forum and on POF from white men stating that they felt uncomfortable in an all black environment.

Granted anyone would feel uncomfortable in ANY environment where they don't know everyone, or stick out like a sore thumb. This would be compounded with stereotypes which other people would fear, but it's not limited to race.

The problem with race is that SOME individuals approach it like it's 1954. For these people, life will always be like "Guess Who's Coming Home For Dinner."
