One time a woman I disnt really know (friend of the person I was dating) complemented my eye color.
Was pretty much out of nowhere, and in a group full of people I didnt really know. I don't know if compliments can be awkward, but that was the closest thing to it IME.
I've done that before, but to another woman. Her eyes were the most interesting shade of green I had ever seen; they were like a milky green color, very unique. Haven't seen an eye color like that since.

How often do you get complimented by the opposite sex...preferably from a random person? What often do you get complimented about? And, do you think how often one get complimented is a sign of how physically attractive they are?

I think how often someone gets complimented has more to do with how approachable they are, not just how attractive they may be.
I get Cute and Handsome when I go out occasionally. Both are safe compliments in my opinion. I think its odd though, considering I'm too old to be cute,and Handsome is something your mom says to you.

Not often at all. At least not in person. Over text messages, sometimes. By male platonic friends, mostly.

Mostly I get complimented on my hair, for some reason. And other women compliment me more than men. I've had other women(usually older) make some remark about me being a "beautiful young lady" more than men. I'd like to think that sometimes even attractive people don't get complimented very much, because if not, i'm a troll. XD

Not that I know of. I kind of fly under the radar. I've only really noticed it a handful of times. I've had a friend tell me that some guy was checking me out once or twice, but I really never notice it if it does happen.
