I feel sad for all involved. I do think there's something torturous about monogamy till death do we part, seems like it anyway.

Mr. P is miles & miles from being a Robert Redford. Take away all those medals and stuff and he's just an average looking gopher.

I'd cut him some slack, especially after seeing pictures of what his wife looked like. Now his mistress, that's pure piping material right there. I only fault him for mentioning this was the reason for his "stepping down" which is utter nonsense. Its obvious that he aligned himself with the wrong camp and after election day he played the card that was dealt to him.

edit: also when you have a security clearance that high, nothing you do will be considered private. Petraeus has a background as a soldier, not espionage/covert. He may have leaked sensitive materials out unwittingly, but again after looking at pictures of his wife I can't blame him/.

Worked out pretty well for Petraeus, obv.

Nietzsche wrote about Master Morality and Slave Morality. Slave Morality is what people like us live by, while Slave Morality is what the rich, the powerful, and the highly influential live by.

Petraeus became rich, powerful, and influential in a very short time. From anonymous general to director of the CIA in about five years. All that power went to both heads.

Seriously. Apart from some women going for the hero/uniform thing, his appearance is really none too impressive. I'd imagine the attraction was to power, and not looks.

of course it had to do with status, here's a guy who could tap any *** he wanted and he was married to the hobbit.

Except he actually accomplished something of substance, not mimicking emotions in front of a camera.
