Seems like a typical 'grass is greener' thing. All I know is I'd rather start having a receding hairline at age 30 if it meant being able to grow a full beard in a week or two now.

I don't have a problem with a nice, neat goatee or a nicely trimmed beard is fine with me.

I don't dig the ZZ Top look though...

I always preferred clean shaven. Or maybe some guys I know just look terrible with facial hair.

My BF is the first one that I actually prefer with facial hair, but he looks just as good clean shaven. However it's his face so he gets to make that judgment call. My only pet peeve is when the mustache gets so long that it makes kissing next to impossible to pull off without laughing from being tickled.
