Take a chance. If nothing else, maybe you gain a friend.

Haha, the irony...

I thought we could remain friends back in the day. It didn't work out too well

You've obviously considered responding or you wouldn't be here seeking advice. What's truly stopping you? The fear again of being rejected? Having that same feeling of being denied? It's always a risk. If she's reaching out, it could be as innocent as she's finally sewed her oats and is a better person for it and is sincere now.. You can only do one of two things.. what does your intuition tell you??

OR.....she could be fat, pregnant, and divorced!! LOL..
Nah. If she didn`t have the time of day for you then, I sure in the hell wouldn`t give her the satisfaction now!
Unless....of course, you are lonely, and search for "companionship" then maybe this is meant to be..

All it took was me to be newly single, and old flames started crawling out of the woodwork (including a couple of wild cards, like a guy I was over the MOON for waaay back in HS, but who I NEVER though noticed me...who apparently did, unbeknownst to me, and a college neighbor who I always thought was cute, but we were both too shy to make a move). Facebook is good like that. Nothing's gonna happen on my end in any of these "guys from past wanting to reconnect" situations, as they are all/mostly all further away than I'm gonna deal with, and I have a few options going locally.

I recommend a reading of Nick Hornby's High Fidelity. They could be going through one of those "What does it all mean?" things.

Sounds like a fascinating read. I'll look into it. I'm always open to learning more about why people do the things they do.

I started talking to an old flame about 4 or 5 months ago. She's still the same nice person , and she's still got the same exact bad qualities that makes me never want to be with her lol. People don't change relationships will be the same once you get back together.
