Its because women need to raise children, so they can devote substantiualy less time to their own careers. Gotta love the nonsense feminism is feeding todays society, telling it that it isnt womans job to raise children. Yep, lets defy the animal kingdom, our biology, thousands years of civilization and every human and biological instinct to make some flannel wearing freak happy we listened to their lack of logical thinking.
It's a parents job to raise their children, both male and female. Get with the program, you're stuck in the 1950s.
To me this is a great 'shut it' answer to all the guys out there complaining that it's feminism's fault fathers aren't seen as equally important/relevant as mothers and and that gals tend to get child custody while guys pay child support. This answers shows if anything feminism is attempting to stop those things.

I don't think you know what feminists are. A true feminist will encourage equity and parity in both parenting and marriage, so if a divorce does happen the father will have had a greater role in his children's upbringing and lives, and he wants custody. Unlike in the past, where many dads barely knew their kids' schedules and interests and hardly took part in childrearing, and in cases of divorce were happy to sign a check and let his ex deal with all that.

Every mamal species with excception of monotremes who lay eggs, as well as millions of other animnal species. The examples of father playing a bigger role in raising children than the mother, in the entire animal kingdom, can be counted on two hands. Lets stick to common sense and logic please.
