Why not? Everyone doesn't like their job and teaching has a reputation for being poorly compensated and underappreciated. So I can understand why someone would ask a question like that. An innapropriate question is do you molest the children?
The question is too personal to ask in the beginning. How bout going out a few times before asking me that question?
Well, it is awfully difficult to put a cup of water in the microwave for 2 minutes and add a tea bag. Anything beyond that might as well be rocket science!
Believe it or not, I dated a girl once, who did not even know how to make hot tea, nevermind actual cooking. She was only 17 or 18 at the time, was extremely beautiful and her dad was very wealthy. Because of that, they had help living in their mansion who did it all for them. I dont think she has ever stepped a foot in the kitchen, period. We ended up dating only for a couple of months, but I had a great laugh when I asked her to make me tea and she told me that she would, but didnt know how and offered to have one of the staff make it for me...

Hence my script idea! You seem to have a very rigid idea of acceptable conversation. Seems to me you really should just give them a script of what they should say to you. Either that or you can hand them a book of rules for conversation - i.e. - what they can and can't ask, what date they can ask certain questions one, what they can and can't do around you, etc.

After we make out there is no such thing as a bad question.
There is a saying: Everyone can't get in on a lie. Basically, you have numerous people from many walks of life who don't know each other telling you that your behavior is inappropriate. Sorry honey, you may not like what you're hearing but it's the truth.
So it's impossible that they've been trying to make conversation with you for years?
Clearly I'm totally off-base here.
Yep, TVandSportsGuy is a "special" case here.
