Please no!!! No hippie forest! This isn't the 70's, lol.

I didn't read all the posts, but I'm more inclined to agree with what Raena wrote on the first page. I'd much rather be in a relationship. Plus, I'm good at it. I just can't find anyone.

Peace and contentment outweighs nonsense and unhappiness any day, so never reduce yourself or settle for second best, and if all else fails, don't settle at all.

OP, not to seem mean here, but the things you listed are common sense knowledge for those who choose not to be in a relationship. So, I'm curious as to what your point about it is? I'm not a very sexual person myself who needs it on a regular basis...I'm talking NOT having to have it for years either.

Those who want that companionship do get into relationships.

1. I have a friend I confide in all the time ,whom knows me better than my ex.
2. There are no unnecessary arguments, for them to have something to say.
3. Mistakes I make I live with , no one is harping on me.
4. I dont need to hold hands with some one, I am not insecure.
5. I can listen to music watch tv and do about any thing that needs to be done untill it's done, with out being pushed on to cal it a nite.
6. If God inspires me to help some one, I don't have to explain my actions.
7. Sexual contact is far more dangerous than people understand. I don't need it.
8. My life is just that ,my life. I have seen the dammage a fantasy will produce , and romance is definately a fantasy. I am not wasting my life on a fantasy.
9. I like women and I like men ,only as acquaintences /friends , nothing more.
10. I am happy with my life ,very happy.

7. No suffering, no doubts
8. Total independence (when having a job)
9. No social boundaries
10. Not necessarily staying with the status quo

Celibacy is truly a gift and those who mock/disrespect us are just envious.
It's possible to have all of those things without celibacy.

A bad relationship is worse than no relationship at all, but for most people in most circumstances, a good relationship is superior to even an enlightened solitude.

One can always identify “benefits” to avoiding this or that aspect of the human experience. To be somewhat facetious, consider the benefits of lifetime incarceration without hope of parole:

1. No worries about becoming homeless
2. No monthly payments on mortgage, insurance, property tax or utilities
3. Guaranteed collection of persons with whom to interact, except for occasional time-out in Solitary
4. Lots of exercise
5. Free health care
6. No need to cook – they have a meal-plan
7. Finally escape from those annoying coworkers and nagging relatives
8. No worries about the high cost of funerals
9. Family won’t feel guilty about placing you in a retirement home
10. Heirs won’t be fighting over your will

11. No risk of being forced to pay child support (for men), unless you get raped.

And to buy over and over batteries.
Eh, other than A and B, a romantic relationship isn't required.

A romantic relationship isn't necessarily required for A and B either.
