I know this has been brought up before but I wanted to get a current take on Dating and relationship etiquette. Are men and women today not using etiquitte that was common just a few years ago? Is it getting worse. Are men behaving worse then in the past? Are women partially responsible?
Personally, as I said in another thread I think it's media and pop culture driven with the 'Anything goes mantra' today.

I'm with the go with the flow mantra.. just not "anything goes."

Some **** don't fly with me. *finger wag*

I think certain behaviors seen in today's dating scene is also shaped and influenced by pop culture, specifically "reality tv" (not reality) mentality.

No values nor sense of respect at all. But, whatdoya have in a fake plastic botox world. As I've read somewhere on here, people are now attributed to having Asperger's if they're genuine. lol

What have you be in a generation distorted in its convoluted world where objects possess higher value than people?

I agree LS, it was better in 1995. Men held doors, pulled chairs out, gave flowers, paid for a date, etc.

However some men still know how to do it right.

I'm trying to think what the women did differently back then

So Jersey shores, the real Housewives and Hard core Pawn are skewing people views on what is normal?

They didn't hate on you if you did things for them.

Agree but this wont change. I do think we'll see more and more people becoming depressed though.

Men are getting meaner and horrible. Not all men, I would hope not most but too many. When I started dating in the mid 80's it went like this: boy asks out for a date (either at school or on the phone), you go out (and which he pays)then he might be too shy to kiss and sex usually (not always)happened later on.

Now? men will often approach a woman right away for sex before officially dating, including after just meeting. I've had men ask me out then expect me to pay or worse pay for THEM. All of this is boorish behavior.

It changed for many reasons, including online dating has allowed men the chance to date multiple women.
