Good-looking people who take care of themselves tend to remain good-looking as they age.

There are exceptions, like those who face illness or a life situation that puts them under extreme duress for long periods of time (poverty, living in a war-torn country, etc.). But basically, most people just become older versions of themselves. I don't buy that beautiful people lose their looks just because of age.

Why all this talk about movie actors? What about your 65-year old neighbor or piano tuner?

If he isn't a celebrity, he doesn't count.

No one here's ever heard of or seen your piano tuner. Celebrities are an easy referent.

That's not true...I've met plenty of local older gents who were attractive for one reason or another.

The reason people keep mentioning celebrities is that they make good examples, because everyone knows who they are and they don't need to be explained or described. It's just easier.

Exactly. I can say "that guy who owns the coffee shop I go to," but that doesn't mean anything to anyone. If I say "John Slattery," you can google him.

Women are also attracted to men in power positions. It doesn't hurt to take care of yourself either.

Older man, typically have powerful positions and influence that some younger women irresistible.

I have absolutely no interest in young women. I like them to know what it is and what to do with it.... I don't want them screaming and running away when I show it to her, I want it to be loved and cherished.

(Pointing and laughing is also not an option).

Well, OP, if you haven't "heard about" older men (over 40) being considered hot, you are hearing it now.

I prefer 35-45, myself, only being 29. But there are plenty of 50 year olds that I ogle. It makes me feel a little creepy when I know someone is old enough to be my father, but I still fantasize.

Similar experiences in rarely seeing older men looked as hot however the difference is in my experience most people value men based on their status and wealth so older men don't need to be looked as hot to be regarded as valuable and worthy. In my experiences older men are regarded as more attractive than older women since 'men age like wine and women age like milk' and older men are regarded as more appealing than older women since it seems older men are labeled as stable secure mature wise and younger women are labeled as young attractive fertile. In my opinion female youth is prized not youth in general since it seems women are judged and value far far far more on their youth and beauty than men are and likely will ever be.
