I like this one, and it is all the better that we met IRL instead of online. He has pursued me heavily so far which I like...

BUT...

I have dated three never married 40+ men withing the last couple of years, all of who were still single for a reason:

One was a recovering alcoholic who relapsed... my god what a terrible thing for me to see
One had a small problem, a very small problem
One was a gambling addict
One I got on with quite well but he just wasn't interested in a commitment so I broke things off

All of those were met online so at least this new guy is different.

Does anyone have a positive story about dating one of these never married dudes?
I feel I am waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Don't approach it as a pessimist. If you expect something bad to happen or for him to reveal his true monstrous self, you will probably be able to point to something you can't live with.

I'm guessing he's another one with some sort of "small problem". Or "5 second problem". Or too close to his mum. Or whatever.

We shall see...it would be nice to be proven wrong for once.

If you look hard enough, you can always find a flaw in anyone.

OK with the last bf an LTR counted, as he had one. Of course it could be that he just wasn't interested in a commitment with me in particular, but I have no way of knowing.

This new dude lived with a woman for 7 years.
