I'm worried no girl will want me because I'm short.

How short?

Girls are insane about height. It is because there is so much pressure for women to be "little", or at least smaller than their man. So average sized women feel they have to exclusively go for big and talls to make themselves feel acceptably tiny. I'm short and petite and married a 5'6'' hottie. He's very attractive, strong, just shorter than the average man. It works out well for kissing and other things...

But I know the majority of my girl friends put height at the top of their list of desired qualities for a boyfriend / husband. I think it is really stupid.

I'm starting to think us guys are starting to become more insecure than women. I've lurked for a while and rarely see the kind of posts one typically associates with female body insecurity. From the women it's all "what does it mean" kind of posts, but the guys seem to bring up their insecurities (though I do remember a post or two from Amazon women).

I'd posit that many men have insecurities, but the expectation of the gender is not to reveal these insecurities.

An anonymous message board is the perfect place for men to reveal their insecurities.

You could have my problem and wish you were shorter.

Don't worry too much about it. You will find someone. Yes, a few girls do get hung up on height, but not all of them do. What you could do if you are really insecure about it is maybe look at girls around the same height? Ether way, there is someone for everybody out there.

OP, don't worry. I'm 5'2", and I have a girlfriend. Yes, I'm insecure, but I'm going to fight it.

I'm a tall woman (over 5'8"), and I really don't care about a guy's height. My maternal grandpa is shorter than grandma (he's like 5'4", while grandma is almost 5'10"), and they're very happy. They taught me to care more about other things, like penis length/girth (j/k). My first husband was around my same height, but he dumped me for a barely legal Asian. My new husband is much more taller than me, but his height wasn't what got me attracted to him; his smile and his face were what got me attracted to him.

Everyone has insecurities socialization dictates how genders are "suppose" to handle it.

To the OP if any women rejects over the fact that your parents happened to love each other then take that as bullet dodged.
