The 9 who makes $80K a year trumps the 7 who makes $120K a year, assuming everything else was held constant, including personalities that were both acceptable to the "shopper."

I don't know....but between those scenarios, I'd be all about whoever I clicked with more.
A 9 and a 7 ? I don't see much variance there.
A 7 would probably be considered above average in looks.
A 9 would probably be considered very attractive.
What about an average looking guy that makes $120 a year, compared to the very attractive $80K a year guy?
I don't consider a 7 as average (average is more of a 5?).

i agree with burglar here. but, let's not assume ALL women act this way.... but IME the more attractive the woman is, the more accurate burglars statement is.
