I actually agree with you. When I was a kid and a teen and tried to make friends I would often get rejected. I learned that no one owes you their time and just leave it alone.
I'm a big guy with big feet, when I'm out in public, I sometimes come across people who feel the need to wonder what shoe size I wear or where do I play football. I've heard this question repeatedly over the last 10 years and let me tell you something, it's annoying. I usually respond with uninterested answers to their questions hoping that they'll get the hint and leave me alone. I figure hey if no one owes me their time I don't owe anyone my time as well.
This is so strange! Who goes around looking at people's feet? After 10 years, I'd be taking it a lot farther than disinterested responses. I'd have come up with some killer snappy comebacks.
"I'm glad you asked! I'm doing a survey on people who are fascinated with strangers' shoe sizes. Would you mind taking the time to fill out my 6-page questionnaire?"
Hey, Javier--apply your creative energy to Ro2113's dilemma. You're on a roll!

What's that?
Here's one for the road:
- Nice day,huh?
- Sorry, I don´t talk to strangers?
- Bloody amateurs, you are supposed to answer "but they said on the news it could rain tonight!"...oooopps, wait a second, you aint my field agent? Okay, nevermind, this conversation did not exist.
I find that a lot of women don't have manners but expect it of the man. If the man said something similar to a short black woman she'd probably hit him or ball out crying.
Personally if there rude I'll be rude. Usually ends up tears, but I keep my self respect intact. Other women and men seem to respect it too.

Perhaps you find a lot of gals don't have manners because of a bit of bias in what you perceive to be manners for a gal. Such as how it's rude and lacking class for a gal to tell a random strange guy she's sorry but she doesn't talk to strangers however it may be rude for a guy to tell a gal to go kill herself and make unwanted sexual comments towards her.
"If they're rude I'll be rude" is possibly circular as some could see it as rude for a stranger intruding on her time and invading her personal space because he likes how she looks and feels owed a conversation because he wants one.

You be surprised people tend to pick up and notice the most random of things at times. I used to get the same comments about playing football because of my shoulder width it wasn't until then I noticed I had wide shoulders.
