Yeah, same here I think I might even be in an actual relationship right now, but it's been so long, I'm not sure what the standards are. I know neither of us is seeing anyone else, but neither of us has taken down our OKC profiles either.
But we have insane chemistry, we like each other's company, we are comfortable with each other, we have similar values and we amuse the hell out of each other. Many of my friends have met him and even my male buddies (who are generally the harshest judges) have openly said they think he's awesome.
When I was younger fell madly in love with a man who didn't love me but we married anyway. Can you say trainwreck. Bitter divorce, children being used as pawns against me. They have problems to this day because of ex husband's actions. Trying to date post divorce was liking walking through a dry, barren desert. Lived all these years depending on me. Now I don't care if I find the one. I'm doing alright as I am right now.
People don't respect intellectualism in the USA, they only respect simple people, if you are smart, you are a threat.
Only stupid people dont respect intelligence and to hell with them anyway. They're the ones that'll be serving you french fries when you're way to your ski trip in Aspen.

I've had more than one man tell me I was 'too smart', which is ridiculous because I consider myself completely average in that respect.
I can all but guarantee that if he asks about my academic accomplishments, however, there is a big change there will not be another date.

Too smart for what? Sorry, but some people are full of shyt. If I go out with someone, I want them to be smart, smarter than me actually! Don't people want to be with someone who they'll be able to enjoy long conversations with and appreciate history, or try to right the world's wrongs? People are too obsessed with going for what's "cute", only that doesn't make for any kind of lasting relationship.
... because I cannot apply logics, maths or anything similar to solve the singlehood-problem, the numbers game have proven to be a no-go as well in my case.
Success seems to require social game and/or confidence of which I to any notable extent seem to lack both.
