As I sit here sipping on my delicious piping hot cup of Maxwell House, I was wondering what it would've been like to meet my sweetie for our first date at a Starbucks or a restaurant in the early morning (not too early lol, I'm talking like 9:00am-ish) for coffee or breakfast. Me personally, I'm in a better mood in the morning and I think that meeting a date for the first time for coffee at this early time of the day would be interesting and would offer a different ambience than the standard meeting for lunch, dinner and/or drinks.

Would you ever meet a date for the first time in the early morning for coffee? Have you ever done this before? And if you wouldn't want to, why not?

Yeah I met someone for a late breakfast once. We both ended up having the day off from work unexpectedly and had nothing going on, so why not. Ended up spending the entire day together

I have met a first date for coffee, but not for breakfast. I have, however, met someone for breakfast and coffee the day after a first date.

Of course we parted the day before....this was not a continuous date.

That's cool that you guys ended up spending the whole day together! If you would've met later in the day or in the evening, you wouldn't have had all of that time to get to know each other.

When you met a first date for coffee, how did it go?

LOL, well, I am not with either man.... I don't think the coffee factor had anything to do with it. The one just wasn't my type, and I really liked the other one, and we did well on paper and talking on the phone.

The coffee was the best part of the date, then we went to dinner and that was the bad part.

We never spoke again.

Yes, but I wouldn't call it a date. I'd just call it meeting for coffee. In fact, I think that may be one of the best way to meet/screen someone you connected with on some online dating site. And by the way "breakfast" for a first date sounds wierd unless you had some prior face-to-face meeting/discussion before. For me, breakfast is a time for me to allow me become more alert, adjust to the day, and plan my daily activities. Not sure I'd want to share that time to someone new, not to mention what kind of impression I'd made.

Well, I guess what I meant was, how did the coffee date go as far as the atmosphere and the way you felt about meeting someone for the first time after having been awake for only a couple of hours. Sorry those early morning meetings didn't pan out for you. Better for you to have found that out sooner than later, right?

May I ask what your username means? It sounds like another language but I can't figure out which.

Oh most definitely. I'd love a latte or or a yummy sandwich from Starbucks or a Diner.

Generally speaking, no

I usually reserve the first breakfast date for the morning after.
