A lot of people gain a lot.

Of course, individual results will vary.

That's not to mention that one of them, with a title nearly identical to this one, was extremely recent, still going strong a week or two ago, as if it would never die. The OP is a Senior Member who should know this. C'mon, people.

Thank in advance.
$2K-3K would be fine for me. I'd never expect a $10K ring.

A reasonable amount depending on the financial situation of the parties involved. If she is unreasonable, that should give you a clue about the whole endeavor- yes?

Assume MOST jewelery is marked up several times whatever the jeweler paid for it. I avoid the big chain stores like the plague. And their employees aren't empoweed to drop the price for you.

I bought a ring tagged at 22k for 12k and another ring tagged at $8,900 for 4k.

Just because you have a budget of x, doesn't mean you have to buy a ring tagged at x. Be smart and get a x+ ring for x. And she'll think you're really smart and you'll get lots of attentiion.

I think the majority of women would prefer they select their own ring, or at least participate in the process. That's been my experience (and I've had three brides).

As if the bloated markups were not enough for the big chain stores, they actually make more money from customer financing than from the jewelery sales.

Good Luck

I know I'm going to get scooped up by some attractive young lady soon.

Don't do it! Marriage has a failure rate of 50%.
