I've seen several profiles on dating site sound interesting. But there are no pictures available.
I did a test respond on one profile, the guy sounds very nice. I asked for a photo and indicating that it is not fair since he can see how I look like, But I cannot see how he looks.

He said he worked in a company which is high profile and he does not feel comfortable letting his coworkers know that he is on match.com

Do you contact people if they dont have photos available?

Let me know your thoughts. thanks

yeah, if they do a good job of describing themselves, or use key words like slim, attractive, etc. there still an impression out there that being on a dating site is embarrassing or that someone will find out, etc. this is particularly true for people with no experience with this dating avenue. but yes, they have to send you an email with pics soon if they still want to continue the conversation.

similarly, there are a lot of posers and people with no real dating motive who do that too, so don't waste too much time with those guys.

p.s., i've never had any luck beside a couple of email exchanged. and don't use your primary email address for this dating site stuff, set up a junk email account

I would never even see the profile as I filtered those without a picture out of my results.

that too. but try searching for your key words (e.g., slim) with no photo and you may discover something

Nope, but more for safety/honesty reasons than anything else. If someone presents a good enough profile and correspondence/phone call, it would take some serious ugly for me to be turned off.

I have seriously thought about this.

First, it has been statistically proven that the response rate is tied to having a picture on there.

- an attractive person may put it up there because they are confident about their appearance.
- an attractive person may NOT put it up there because they are uncomfortable with this venue, or because they don't want people to know they are on-line dating.

Everyone who does on-line dating often runs into at least ONE person they know from childhood/HS/college who is divorced, widowed, or has never married.
