Cooking imo is important in any type of ship, whether relation or friend. It gives people an opportunity to work together and create something good. Plus i'm always able to pick up on things that I might not have thought of myself. Nothing wrong with giving it a shot.

Notice how the women who like to cook are taken young ladies? Don't shoot the messenger, just saying.

Hahahaha, my husband said there were times where my cooking was the only thing that kept him married to me.

I'm 37 and I didn't discover the joy of cooking UNTIL I was taken.

I don't see being resourceful enough to feed one's self (and others, if one chooses) well as a subjugating thing. The being able to cook isn't/wasn't the issue, it was the being expected to be the only one who does the job that is/was. I've never seen attaining a variety of skills to be something that dents one's liberation; quite the opposite. For me, cooking isn't about being tied to the kitchen because I'm female, it's about having a useful life skill.
I completely agree with you. And being able to cook sure does come in handy when money is tight! I could get 4 meals out of a roasted chicken back when I was quite broke. Four very different meals.

Wow, lets calm down here.
I have meals with friends all of the time, I merely said we don't cook for each other. I live in NYC where our kitchens are tiny. That's why potluck is what works, as I stated in my post.

42, been cooking since my childhood... but you are right, cooking does help in getting a man. At worse cooking is neutral and at best it is a bonus.
