Im curious about this topic too. Never did when I was married but I want to point out that fantasizing about someone else before having sex with your spouse is not the same as fantasizing during sex with your spouse.
The thing with me is that I can only have sustained lust for one person at a time and that it is the person I will want to be having sex with. I can't lust for two people at once. I may have fleeting moments of lust for someone else but they are just that, fleeting.
I can't say I've ever fantasized of someone else while actually being with a current partner. I'm pretty focused on him and what we're doing, how I'm feeling, etc..
But like JustJulia, on my own time it's a different story. (Although for the most part, it's my husband who is on my mind.)
Ive heard of people in relationships go out to clubs or bars without their SO and just "talk" to people and then go home and ravish their partner. Can't say what or who they are thinking about.
If theyre thinking about someone else i still think this is asking for trouble. What do you think?
Shame because I think it's a valid question...meaning fantasizing about someone else while actually being with your SO/Partner. (I'm trying to keep things PG-13. )
