I have a long time friend who is conservative, he is married to a very liberal woman. They get along just fine and when I asked him how he does it, he said they don't discuss politics and he overlooks a lot of stuff she says. Personally, I couldn't be married to a liberal. I know my limitations, I just couldn't keep my mouth shut and that is absolutely necessary if a relationship with differing opinions is to survive. In the past I have treated my friend and his wife to dinner many times, I find myself always hoping she will choke on her food, or at the very least bit her own tongue.

I know. Well, that's how you can tell who the liberals are. We all look like that!

I am not political, I find someone extremely political boring. I also feel inadequate in their company, as though something is lacking in me , intellectually so this probably wouldn't be a concern for me or a match for me. It depends, to answer your question, how tolerant each person is of other viewpoints and how respectfully the two people can agree to disagree on some issues. The way the subject is approached is the key.

Just the opposite, actually. The "center" is pretty solidly on the right in the U.S. compared to the rest of the first world, and even compared to our own country a few decades ago.

You're apparently not paying attention or have been brainwashed by Fox News. Either way, I feel sorry for you, but it's not my problem, and you saying "yeah right" does not change reality.

Intolerant of stupidity, perhaps. That's not a bad thing.
