I don't think I was successful though. I thought girls usually wanted girls, not boys, so I'm not sure how to convince her otherwise. I explained to her that girls will be subsidized and thereby an easier life in the USA, but she said she wants the experience of raising both; this seems selfish to me.

Is it common for girls to want boy babies? How can I convince her that it is better to have girls than boys?
What do you mean, "girls get subsidized"? Is there a gov't subsidy for girl babies? If so, I (& my parents) missed out, and so did a lot of other people. Who handles this subsidy, the Social Security Administration? Please provide more info.

It's common for couples to want one of each. Many don't get that, though. Some only get one kid, then the factory shuts down. Others get two boys. Friends of mine wanted one of each, but got 2 girls. They made one last try for a boy, and got a girl. No subsidies, though, for all those girls. Sounds like a lot of money they got shorted. The girls worked through college and 2 have PhD's, one is finishing highschool.

I'm pretty sure by "subsidizing" he means women get to slide through life while living off their male partners, who are the primary breadwinners.

The worst part about this kind of ignorance is that he will never know how off-base his ideas are.

Come on, girls. The *** is up. He's onto us. Okay - yes - we get money for existing. It was supposed to be a secret - but we get a dollar for every breath we take. We have secret accounts where we keep the money and we aren't supposed to tell anyone. In fact, I'll probably be penalized for leaking our secret.

Okay - seriously? j i g is starred out? What the hell?

Boys are more prone to violence.
Boys are more likely to commit crime and end up in prison.
More funding is available for women or training and subsequent jobs.
Less violence happens to women.
If jobs are not available in the future a girl can find a man to support her, but a man will have to go homeless. (in a worse case scenario)
Girls do better in school.
Etc.
There is no funding available for girls or women, no extra job training. I know at least 10 women who recently graduated college and none of them got money or training just for being female. Where do you read this stuff?

Boys statistically may be more likely to end up in prison, but they won't if you step up to the plate as a father, and give them lots of quality time and guidance. That's your job.
If jobs are scarce for men, and men are going homeless, how will a woman find a guy to support her???! Many women prefer to work, anyway.

Did you get your info from a website, by any chance? You sound too young to have any solid idea about how life works.

I think he should let his GF read this thread, and then he won't have to worry about her having ANY babies with him.
