21 months for me. We went to Vegas and got married by Elvis at the Viva Las Vegas Chapel.

I'm better at remembering the length of time between the first date and when the whole situation sputtered altogether.

It's different for everyone. My wife and I have been married for almost 7 years now. We hit 7 this month. This after less than 5 months of dating. I'd pit our marriage against anyone else's in the 5-15 year range that we know. It has worked for us, though I would not likely recommend our path to everyone.

I said eight years above because I met my husband when we were 14, and we were married at 22. I knew him the whole time, but we only dated for seven months or so.

I suppose that was quite a long time ago? If so it's normal, people married really early back then (my mother was your age when she married).

But to marry after 6 months or a year after knowing each other is asking for serious trouble.

4 years first time, and this one looks like it might be just under 3 or just over 3 years. Engaged but no date yet, other priorities to take care of first.

Sensible people of course. I have an uncle who has been dating for 15 years.
