My uncle just came back from an important business meeting and he's good friends with alot of high ranking cops and people in the military, I don't think he's going to jail anytime soon.

Cops and the military have exactly what to do with the IRS? If he's scamming on his taxes he will get caught eventually, no matter how important you think he is.

I have been both poor and middle class and I can say I was a heck of a lot happier as a middle class person. When I was part of the middle class, I didn't have to worry when I got sick because I had good health insurance. I didn't have to buy ramen noodles ever. I never got stressed because of a past due notices in the mail. I had a gorgeous apartment with a pool.
While money may not buy happiness, having enough money to survive certainly does.
