Ok... But, FB are written with similar code as online dating apps. So, if the code is similar, then how the app works is similar, and that is why this is a feasible explanation.

Maybe so but the fact that there's an app for these free dating sites is just kind of ridiculous, the idea that any joe schmoe can create a profile for free and send an im to any girl on here phone anywhere anytime of the day seems odd to me.
It's seems like an unhealthy environment for a civilized society, but I guess that's a whole other topic.
and so what if she is on the site- you swapped greetings...are we getting possessive?
I'm online to actually meet someone, I follow through with intentions to date,I don't spend hours chatting only to drop someone and do it over and over again.

Lost Leaf, as a veteran online dater I would say stop chatting for hours or talking over days or weeks before meeting. I learned after a while it's best to meet FTF sooner than later. My now bf asked me to meet him in the first message to me. You really can't get to know someone online IMO. Just keep it short, like meeting for coffee somewhere. Some women may not be willing to meet that fast, but IMO don't worry about them and move onto women who will. There are too many people who flake to waste hours on them prior to meeting, JMO.
I've done a fair share internet dating on and off over the years and haven't had too much difficulty getting dates until I started to use the free sites such as POF and Okcupid. I used to think it was due to the fact that there were probably a lot more guys online than women therefore skewing the ratio out of wack until I stated to notice something.
All the women I ever corresponded with seemed interested at first, we would chat for a couple of hours until one of use had to get off line to bed. The next day or two would go buy, I would go online to send them a message and I noticed that they were online also. Days go buy without a response, every time I go online to see if I might have missed a message I notice that their online.
So I start keeping tabs and check in the morning and there they are online, I check in the afternoon and there they are online, I check at night and yup you guessed it online. Not only are they online all day but there online everyday for months and even years on end only take slight breaks to go to bed.
And so the question is, have theses sites turned many women into full blown attention seekers or have they convinced themselves that the perfect man is still out there? They spend countless days and month after month searching for someone that only exits in their imagination? It seems like these women are stuck in fantasy mode. Some of the women are fairly attractive so it's not like they can't get a date. But I've noticed that some of the more attractive women have been on these sites for so long there looks are starting to go south, I've noticed one girl who's been on the site on and off for 5 years!! What the hell are they looking for?? Out of all the guys you can't find one in that time.
I just don't get it, while other people settle and move on with their lives some are just aren't satisfied ever. The search never ends, the grass is always greener on the other side.
Lots of people are logged in through their phone which makes it look like they are online but they are not
It's not a silly theory it's a fact of life. You get logged out automatically after a certain amount of time passes without any activity. Besides, how do you explain being online day after day, month after month, year after year?
Not true, if you are logged on though your phone it will always show you are online. I haven't accessed OKC since Thursday on my phone but it will still show me online because I have not logged out on my phone
