You have me beat by some years. I never really dated growing up, and always met my girlfriends at work. I guess for me people see a hard shell on the outside and don't try to even know me until they are forced into a situation to be around me such as work. Then people realize they totally misjudged me. I kind of gave up on dating a few years ago after being burned by a few ex girlfriends. I realized that nobody was worth the effort anymore and somehow naturally gave up. Who are we kidding, nobody stays together for long these days.

You got that right, in most cases anyway.

Serial monogamy is so pointless. One might as well have a slightly open relationship. It would likely increase the chances of having a lifelong friend.
